Prof. Dr. Erik Hohmann is a German Board-Certified and German-Trained Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with over 30 years of international clinical and academic experience in Sports Orthopaedics & Traumatology. Prior to joining Adam Vital Hospital, Prof. Dr. Hohmann served at reputed hospitals across the UAE and internationally, having successfully performed over 20,000 Shoulder, Knee, and other Orthopaedic Surgeries including Orthopaedic Trauma.
Prof. Dr. Hohmann is also a UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA)-licensed Aeromedical Specialist and Specialist Aeromedical Examiner, with unparalleled expertise in Aviation and Space Medicine. In recognition of his distinguished contributions to the field, he was awarded Honorary Membership of the International Academy of Aviation and Space Medicine in 2023. In addition to his clinical practice, Prof. Dr. Hohmann possesses a distinguished academic and research background. He has held senior academic appointments as Associate Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Division of Surgery, University of Queensland Medical School, Australia, and as Professor at the School of Medical and Applied Sciences, CQ University Australia. He currently serves as Extraordinary Professor at the School of Medicine, Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Pretoria, South Africa.
